Jomsom Muktinath Trekking - Enchanting-Rugged- Holy

Jomsom Muktinath trekking in Nepal is a perfect union of age old spirituality with paradisical nature. It is one of the holiest trails that take you through the rugged trail that comprises of arid landscapes through to the heavenly beauty of Jomsom. Trekking in Jomsom Muktinath regions is a contrasting adventure that is sure to excite entice and enlighten you to get a blessed feeling.

The classic Jomson Muktinath trek presents you with an extraordinary glimpse of the Annapurna region like Poon Hill, Kagbeni, Muktinath, Kaligandaki gorge and Jomsom. You Jomsom Muktinath trekking begins from Nayapul and crosses various ethnic village settlements at regular intervals of your drive. As you move along you will be greeted by the array of red blooming rhododendrons, fir forests constantly engulfed by the Annapurna vistas. You will be then heading towards Poon hill, a place known for its epic sunrise and panormic views. From here you will be then making way towards the dry and rugged terrain that leads to Kagbeni. Kagbeni is home to the deepest gorge in the world, and as you walk along the gorge you get an thrilling experience of getting extraordinary views of the entire Annapurna range and Dhaulagiri Himal as well.

After experiencing the thrills of the deepest gorge, your journey gets spiritual and divine upon reaching the Muktinath temple. It is one of the most famous and holiest sites for both the Buddhist and Hindu followers. You will find a place where the Buddhist teacher Guru Ripoche had meditated on his journey to Tibet, and the idol of Lord Vishnu. An astonishing eternal flame will attract your attention which is incredible and magical. Next you will come across 108 water spouts in the courtyard that spills cold water. There is holy belief attached with the cold water spout that taking a shower purifies heart and soul, and one attain redemption.

From Muktinath you will make your way back towards Jomsom. It is one of the most picturesque and beautiful village that belongs to the ethnic Gurung community. Wherever your eyes can reach you will only find lush green landscapes, floral bloom as if nature has showered all its goodness here. Not only that you will be surprised by the warm hospitality of these people as well. After enjoying the warm hospitality you will leave Jomsom for Pokhara and then to Kathmandu to fly back home.

You will arrive at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu, and will be transferred to the hotel by our airport representative. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today you will be visiting the adjoining areas to observe the cultural, historical and religious sites in and around the Kathmandu valley. You will get to observe the UNESCO listed Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, and religious sites such as the Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath temple and more. After that you will return back to your hotel accommodation

The following day you will get up early and board a vehicle from Kathmandu and drive towards Pokhara. It is a scenic drive as you will come across various landscapes, terraced fields, and dense vegetation and get panoramic views of the Himalayan Mountains. Finally you will reach Pokhara.

Today from pokhara we will reach out Naipaul, and go as far as Birethani. This is beautiful village filled with blooming rhododendron trees, as we keep up the pace we reach Hille and finally to Tikhedunga.

From Tikhedhunga we make a steep climb up the hill and reach the village of Ulleri. We get stunning views of the Annapurna South here, we continue and pass through the rhododendron and oak trees and reach the village of Nangethanti, We will keep walking through to dense trails till we reach Ghorepani. We will spend a night here for the next day’s trek.

Today we will wake up early in the morning, trek to Poon Hill, where excellent Mountain View awaits us. We get breath taking glimpses of Dhaulagiri Ranges, Annapurna I, Annapurna II Annapurna III, Gangapurna and few others. After capturing glimpses of these mountains in our memories we then trek steadily until we reach Tadapani. From here we make our way towards pine and rhododendron forest, and reach Deurali and Banthanti villages. We will be spending our night here.

Today is the day of climbs, as you will be ascending one of the deepest gorge in the world the Kali Gandaki. The steep trail leads to the Dana and Rupse Chhahara, which happens to be a breath taking waterfall. From here we will be making a cross over to reach Kopchepani, and make a short climb steadily for reaching the desired destinaion of Ghasa.

You will be making a cross over the river to enter the Larjung Pass and reach the village of Khobang. Once you are here after walking steadily for few hours you will reach the village of Tukuche which is your desired destination.

Today you will leave Tukche, making a climb across the valley to reach Jomsom. It is an important centre that holds various offices, army camps hotels, shops, banks, government offices and an airport. From here you will be trekking towards Eklai Bhatti, Multipath, and Kagbeni. Kagbeni used to be major trading route between Tibet and indi a beautiful place amidst an arid place, and also a confluence of Kali- Gandaki and Jhong khola .You will stay overnight here at Kagbeni

The following day you will be trekking all along the banks of the Kaligandaki River. From here the climbing becomes steep as you reach Khingar, Jharkot, and finally reach Muktinath.

You will be trekking back to Eklebhatti and reach towards Jomsom following the same trail again.
