I came for the mountains, and was swept away by everything around them. Shepherd Holidays crafted a 15-day odyssey that felt less like a trek and more like a journey into the soul of Nepal. The trails were both challenging and rewarding, winding through rhododendron forests that smelled like cinnamon dreams and offering glimpses of Annapurna's majesty that still take my breath away. Every night, teahouses welcomed us with steaming mugs of chai and plates of the most incredible dal bhat I've ever tasted. But the true magic was in the people. Our guide, Pasang, wasn't just our map and compass; he was our storyteller, our confidante, and our window into Nepali culture. Witnessing his unwavering spirit and contagious laughter, even on the steepest climbs, was a revelation. The porters, with their quiet strength and genuine smiles, became silent heroes, carrying our burdens as we carried our dreams. Shepherd Holidays' dedication to responsible tourism was also inspiring, ensuring every step we took on this journey honored the beauty and fragility of the Himalayas. Beyond the summit of Annapurna Base Camp, I found myself summiting my own fears and limitations. My escapade through Bhutan was nothing short of extraordinary. The juxtaposition of ancient traditions and modern life in Thimphu fascinated me. The visit to Paro, with its historic sites and welcoming locals, left a lasting impression. The trek to Tiger's Nest was a spiritual awakening, with breathtaking views at every turn. Undoubtedly, it was the most incredible hike I've ever experienced. The scenery, particularly in the latter stages with towering peaks, was simply breathtaking. I was fortunate enough to catch multiple sightings of Mount Everest along the way.My trek was accompanied by Ram as my guide, and he was outstanding. Not only was he excellent company, but his knowledge of the mountains was impressive. During the acclimatization period, he even took the time to teach me a card game, adding a delightful dimension to the journey.All in all, this trek was impeccably organized, and one of its standout moments was the exhilarating helicopter ride. Highly recommended!

My expedition with guide Deepak was truly a remarkable experience. We embarked on a trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp (EBC), despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions during the initial eight days due to Nepal's rainy season in August. However, my luck took a turn for the better on the final day as we hiked to Kalapattar. There, I was treated to the absolutely breathtaking sight of Mount Everest, which stood in all its extraordinary splendor. This magnificent encounter with Mount Everest serves as the perfect embodiment of this incredible journey, and I  recommend both my guide, Deepak, and this company to anyone seeking to trek to EBC.
