Important Information for Bhutan Travel
Traveling to Bhutan:
Druk Air, the national airline of Bhutan, operates flights to Paro from various cities including Bangkok, Kolkata, Dhaka, Kathmandu, and New Delhi. Bhutan International Airport in Paro serves as the entry point, with a departure tax of Ngultrum (Nu) 300, approximately US$ 7, applicable for all destinations.
Overland entry and exit are possible through the Indian state of West Bengal into Phuntsholing in southwest Bhutan. Phuntsholing is a 4-hour drive from Bagdogra, the nearest Indian airport, and a 6-7 hour drive from both Gangtok (Sikkim) and Darjeeling. The journey from Phuntsholing to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, takes around 6 hours.
Note: Flight expenses are not included in the trip cost and vary based on flight sectors. Druk Air offers flights from multiple locations, and it is recommended to book flights to Bangkok due to daily flights to and from Paro.
Luxurious hotels will be provided throughout the entire trip.
