Nagarkot Changunarayan Hike is a typical day hike which starts early in the morning watching sunrise view from Nagarkot. Nagarkot Changunarayan hiking is one the best hiking in Nepal .It takes us about 130mins -2hrs via car to rich Nagarkot view point. From the parking area we need to walk 2 minutes of steps to reach main view point. We can see the beautiful sunrise view from the top of the hill in your east. We need to reach the hill station before sun rises in its course. When the sun slowly rises up we can see the stunning Himalayan ranges like Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gaurishanker, Dolpo and Mt. Everest. After 1-2 hours when the sun slightly gets up we can see the white snow-capped mountains turns lightly yellow because of rays of the sun and the view is breathtaking. From the Nagarkot hill we can see the beautiful Bhaktapur city, village of Nagarkot, dense forest where we can see various types of birds, tigers, leopards ,monkeys and many more. There is a Gravity station in Nagarkot view point from where the actual gravity of Nepal is measured. After sunrise view we will go back to our car parking area there we can take typical Nepali breakfast if we want and also we can have alcoholic beverage or non-alcoholic beverage over there. After the breakfast we drive to Telkot from the Hill station. It takes around 15 minutes to reach to Telkot where our walk starts. 

Nagarkot Changunarayan Hike, the walk starts from Telkot, 3.7 km from Nagarkot.  The trail goes through the pine forest. It takes us about 2.5 hours to reach Changunarayan Temple.  Nagarkot Changunarayan Hike is very easy, even children can participate as well as senior citizens. . While walking we can see green hills, mountains, red rhododendrons. After a walk of 1hr we will reach in a small Temple named “Santoshi mata” which is in a top of the hill surrounded by different types of flowers also we can see the biggest Trishul of Lord Shiva over there. We can see Changunarayn temple from there which is in another hill. After the temple we will be walking through the Newari village. We can see the paddy fields and the local people and their lifestyle. The villagers are so respective and very friendly. After walking few minutes from village area we reach in Changunarayan main gate we should pay entrance fee there after that we need to walk few steps to reach Changunarayan. In the way we can see handicrafts made by locals. There is a museum near to the temple we can see the collection of old coins and some arts of ancient period. As Changunarayn temple is the oldest temple of Nepal which is listed in World heritage site UNESCO. This temple was built in 3500 AD by Lichhabis . This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. We can see many arts of god and goddess in pillars of the temple. We can’t enter inside the temple; in fact, nobody can enter inside except ‘Pujari’ the priest. Beside the temple we can see one another temple called Chinnamasta where people use to sacrifice animals like chickens, ducks, male goats, lambs and many more when their wishes get fulfilled. The river called Manahara flows beside the hill. There are four entrance gates in Temple and the gates are guarded by life-size pairs of animals such as lions, seraphs, griffins and elephants on each side of the entrance. And the hike ends here and we drive back to the hotel, where you were picked up in the morning.
