Latest update of Covid-19 in Nepal

Nepal Covid-19 cases crossed 20,000- mark and reached 20,332 today. So far, 57 people have been died due to Covid 19 coronavirus in Nepal where 14,603 individuals have made successful recovery from deadly virus and there are still 5,672 active cases till now. According to Ministry of Health and Population, there are 10,934 persons in quarantines and 5,672 individuals are in isolation.

 

The government of Nepal had officially announced the end of the 4-months long lockdown from 21 July which was imposed to control the pandemic Covid 19 Corona Virus, from March 24. However, some restrictions will still be same as earlier till the risk of pandemic which does not fully controlled.

 

After the end of 4-months long lockdown in Nepal, Sauraha became the first town to start tourism activities from today. Sauraha is a tourism hub in Chitwan near Chitwan National Park located in south western part of Nepal. 

Meanwhile, Many hotels from other tourist destinations of Nepal are on preparation to announce the heavy discounts and special offers to attract domestic tourists. They will not only attract for the local tourists but it will be a clear message to international tourists that they can be prepared for the vacation in near future.

Earlier,

Bhaktapur Municipality had opened its six tourist service centers which were closed due to Covid-19 lockdown. 

Nepal had  canceled its biggest international event – Visit Nepal 2020, which was organized to promote Nepal and its major tourism attractions. All academic examinations below 10th standard were conducted before academic calendar and other examinations are cancelled. All land boarders with China and India are sealed off but they are not effectively followed & only international airport, Tribhuvan International Airport is partially closed after suspending all regular flights. Few emergency charted flights are rescuing needy ones and carrying emergency stuffs.

What is Coronavirus and what do we know about it?

Coronavirus or COVID-19 is considered to have become an epidemic worldwide. Coronavirus was first identified in the Wuhan state of China. And there has been a lot of information circulating on media regarding the symptoms and prevention measures of the virus. As we now know it now, the virus has transmitted between animals and humans. Some signs to look out for include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing. And in more severe cases, the infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure, and even death.

Few recommendations have been provided to prevent the spread of the virus. They include; regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs, avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

Officials have understood quarantine is kryptonite and the best measure to bring down Coronavirus. However, remaining in quarantine can be daunting and a bit frustrating as the number of activities and social interactions are limited.
