Mansarovar Tour or Kailash Tour, both names are famous in the toursim world as well as in Pilgrims. Regarding Mansarovar - Kailash Tour, Mansarovar and Kailash Parwat (Parwat means mountain in Saskrit) a 6,714m high mountain are very popular holy places in many religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Bonpoism. In many Hindu Spiritual books, the Mount Kailash is stated as sitting place of Lord Shiva and for Buddhists it is a place of the terrestrial projection of the cosmic mandala of Dyani Buddhas and Boddhisatvas (which represents the Wheel of Life).

Mansarovar - Kailash Tour is for both devout pilgrim and for the adventure lovers. It offers many adventures activities in one slot. After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, our airport representative will greet you and escort you to the hotel. In the afternoon, you can take rest or explore the streets of Thamel nearby your hotel. In the evening, we will organize a short pre-trip meeting and introduce you with your tour and trekking guides, who will brief you about the preparations to be done for the trip.

After breakfast at around 9am, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and you will go for sightseeing of famous UNESCO world heritage sites around Kathmandu valley.

You will visit the following sites:

Pashupatinath (World heritage site):

The world famous Hindu temple, Pashupatinath is regarded as one of the holiest and oldest Hindu temple in the world. This temple is located 5km east from the city center at the bank of the holy Bagmati River. Pashupatinath area is widely decorated by various ornaments dedicated to Lord Shiva. As followed by the Hindu Culture, the cremation of the dead is done in Pashupatinath area by the side of the bank of the holy Bagmati River.

Swayambhunath Monkey temple (World heritage site):

Swayambhunath, also named as the monkey temple is surrounded by monkeys all over the area. Famous for people following both Hinduism and Buddhism, this temple not only provides the cultural and religious aspects but also offers various arts, architecture and the magnificent view of Kathmandu valley from the western side of its hillock. Swyambhunath Stupa is imprinted by the eye of Lord Buddha, which stands for peace and knowledge.

Boudhanath (World heritage site):

Boudhanath is the oldest and largest stupa in the valley, which was built during the Licchhavi dynasty in the 5th century around 2500 years ago. Its old name is ‘Khasa’ but later it was changed to Boudhanath by the government. You will find many Buddhist pilgrims and monks from Tibet and various places going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.

Patan Durbar Square (World heritage site):

Patan Durbar Square is situated at the center of the Lalitpur district. The main attraction of Patan Durbar Square is the ancient royal palace, where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided. There are many temples and idols in this area. You can also explore the Newari lifestyle, food and culture in the square and visit museums that contain many ancient and antique items that have a lot of historical significance.

After our full day visit in Kathmandu, we take an hour long flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, . Nepalgunj is  a town near the Nepal-India border. It is also the regarded as the gateway to Simikot, Humla. Nepalgunj located in western Nepal, showcases a very diverse culture. In Nepalgunj, we visit the mini-zoo, local market and nearby villages.

After our early morning breakfast, we head for our chartered Helicopter in Nepalgunj airport and fly to Hilsa (3720m). Upon arrival in Hilsa, we walk to Sher for about 45 minutes. At Hilsa, our passports and other important  travel documents will checked by Chinese Army. In Sher, we meet our Tibetan Driver and Guide along with other staffs. We then drive to Taklakot for another 1:30 hr, where we complete our entire immigration process for the entrance to Tibet.

We take rest day at Taklakot for our body to adapt at the very high altitude.

After our morning breakfast, we meet our waiting vehicle and start a scenic drive for 3 hours to Chu Gompa, which lies on the northwest shore of the Lake Mansarovar with the amazing sight of Mt. Kailash in the background. Rest of the day can be spent on leisure activities.

After our morning breakfast, we drive to Chukku Gompa, where we meet our yak and porters. After reorganizing the load, we start our trek. For better views of Kailash and better campsites, we cross the west bank trail across a  slope to arrive at a good camping ground at Damding Donkhang (4890 m ), a grassy spot that offers good views of the West face of Mt. Kailash. 

We continue on a rocky path walking along the Belung Chu and Dunglung Chu streams as the North face of Kailash comes in view. On the opposite side of the Lha Chu you can see several groups of nomad tending herd of goats and yaks. As we reach  Gompa and the guesthouse at Drira Phuk, we are rewarded with a fine view of the North face of Mt. Kailash. The three lower hills in front of Mt. Kailash from this point are the Manjushree, Avalokitesvara and Vajrapani which represents wisdom, kindness and power.

After our morning breakfast, we trek from Drira Phuk and cross the Lha Chu on a wooden bridge. We then continues to trek up to Lha Chu, also regarded as the true source of the Indus. The Kora route takes a serious climb on to a crease, further meeting the trail from the East bank. The trail now climbs more gently to a field full of fat marmots (phiya) at 5212 m.

We then climb past the  piles of clothing at Shiva-tsal (5330 m) and continue past thousands of small rock cairns to a large cairn at 5390 meters passing the Dikpa Karnak, a sin testing stone. The trail now leads across a boulder field and climbs through large rocks to a tiny stream. We then climb onto a ridge and continue gently on to the Dolma La at 5630 m, which is the maximum elevation that we'll reach during our trek.

A big boulder on the pass representing the goddess Dolma (Also known by Sanskrit name as Tara) is decorated with prayer flags. It is a tradition and a cultural belief to leave and take something as part of the collection of prayer flags, teeth, coins and other offerings attached to the rock. At first, the trail from the west side of the pass is steep and rocky. But after that, it begins with a series of switchbacks as it passes Gauri Kund. As we descend for about an hour to arrive alongside the Lham Chhukhir at 5150 m, our evening campsite on the bank of the river near Sabje Dratok will arrive. There is a huge rock at Sabje Dratok which has footprints on it, which is believed  to be of Lord Buddha. We then continue further to Zutulphuk Gompa at an altitude of 4,790m.

Early morning ,we continue along the River to last prostration point (Chaksal Gang) from where we get good views of Manasarovar lake. We will then meet our waiting vehicle and start our drive back to Taklakot via Lake Mansarovar.

After our early breakfast, we complete all the immigration formalities and drive to Sher, where our Tibetan Staff will bid us farewell. We then walk to Hilsa for about 45 minutes and get on to a waiting helicopter and board our flight to Nepalgunj. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, we check in at the hotel. After some rest, we then transfer to Nepalgunj airport for our flight to Kathmandu.

After your arrival in Kathmandu, our driver and guide will drop you to the hotel. You can take rest or explore the streets of Thamel shopping for various antique and exotic things. In the evening, we will organize farewell dinner in a typical Nepali restaurant. You can enjoy cultural dance and songs overnight.

Today is the last day of your trip. If you would like to stay more in Nepal; you have many options which can be shared with us upon request.
