Sunrise Hike of Nagarkot - Chagunarayan trip starts from your hotel. Early in the morning at around 4 am our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the main viewpoint of Nagarkot hill. Nagarkot hill situated at an elevation of 2,195m, often recognized as popular scenic spot of Bhaktapur district. Nagarkot hill is offers a mesmerizing sunrise view over the stunning Himalayan ranges including Annapurna, Ganesh and Mt. Everest. Nagarkot hill is located 33 km east from Kathmandu approx 2 hours drive from Thamel via private car. Nagarkot hill also offers breathtaking views of the entire Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot village as well as green dense forest. After the outstanding views we’ll return back to the car parking area, there we can take typical Nepali breakfast then we’ll drive to Telkot, starting point of hike.

Nagarkot Changunarayan Hike is very easy, even children can participate as well as senior citizens. As Changu Narayan temple is the oldest temple of Nepal which is listed in the World Heritage Site UNESCO. It is located in Changu village at Bhaktapur district. This temple was built in 3500 AD by Lichhavi Dynasty in pagoda style. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is made with local varieties and woods with the various arts of god and goddess in pillars of the temple.
Just beside the Changu Narayan temple there is one another important temple called Chinnamasta where people use to sacrifice animals like chickens, ducks, male goats, lambs and many more when their wishes get fulfilled. The river called Manahara flows beside the hill. There are four entrance gates in Temple and the gates are guarded by life-size pairs of animals such as lions, seraphs, griffins and elephants on each side of the entrance. According to locals, when you perceive the Changu Narayan temple you can discern the absolute cultural development of the Kathmandu valley. It also offers a magnificent view of stunning snow-capped mountains as well as entire Kathmandu valley.
